At Service Minds, we are on a mission to Change Lives through the Skilled Trades.

Our roots trace back to the founding of Mister Sparky in 1996 by Patrick Kennedy. In a nod to his upbringing in Dublin, Patrick named his new company after the Irish term for electrician, “sparky.”

In 2007, Patrick moved to Florida to open Mister Sparky of Sarasota.

In 2014, David Connolly, Patrick’s longtime associate, acquired the business, Service Minds DBA Mister Sparky. Over the course of the next eight years, he grew the business to 12 locations across Florida and Alabama.

In 2022, David partnered with Altamont Capital Partners to help Service Minds expand its offerings across the Southeast and currently serves as Executive Chairman.

Today, Service Minds is one of the largest residential contractors in the US, operating more than 40 locations across the Southeast under the trade brands of Mister Sparky Electric, One Hour Heating & Air Conditioning and Benjamin Franklin Plumbing.
